Calling Talarico "obsessed" is political hyperbole. Fair enough. Politicians do that all the time.

But claiming he wants to turn children transgender is something entirely different. That's not simply exaggerating his position. It's misrepresenting it.

There are legitimate disagreements over transgender policies, particularly involving minors and athletics. Republicans have plenty of material to work with from Talarico's voting record. Why not argue those issues on their merits instead of making accusations that have no factual basis?

I understand the appeal to the MAGA base, but there's a difference between political rhetoric and outright falsehoods.

What's interesting to me is how far down the list transgender issues are when it comes to what Americans actually care about at the polls. People are worried about affordability, war, corruption, healthcare, and education. Meanwhile, transgender issues are practically at the bottom of the list (compared to a few years ago).

Yet somehow we're still talking about the imaginary epidemic of politicians trying to turn kids transgender instead of addressing the issues voters actually care about.

In an odd way, that is because Trump has had one major success: immigration. The "other" can't be foreigners, because they are not getting in. So, the other are transgender and communists.

And it is not about persuasion; it is about getting people to the polls. The Texas GOP, at least, believes its base will turn out to stop anything but man-woman missionary sex.

Has to be missionary only - would be a little too progressive to allow women to be on top of anything.

Republicans usually get behind Democrats in early voting; but according to Don Huffines we are way behind. This is not a good sign and has me worried that Paxton could actually lose. Hope I am wrong as I cannot imagine Texas going for Talarico.

I lay all of this angst and election worry at the feet of the Bush Family and Karl Rove who continue to be a thorn in President Trump's side as they actually push for Talarico over Paxton. Ditto with John Cornyn who I always knew was not trustworthy. Their despicable conduct could actually make us lose this senate race.

Lastly I have little faith in the electorate. Most are self serving and greedy and refuse to understand that the pieces are in place for the economy to roar once this Iran problem is taken care of. But so many are unwilling to show the patience to sacrifice temporary higher gas prices and mild inflation for the greater good later on. It's gimme gimme now! Six months from now these idiots will regret their votes as they see they have screwed themselves. Sadly too late for the rest of us.

Trantifa is certainly a threat.

But the Israel First foreign policy is a far greater threat to this country bcs its uncompromising nature. It demands all other problems come second to supporting Israel so they only get worse and worse and our country becomes what it is today, a dilapidated, decaying nation masquerading as a first world nation.

LMAO. Country over party is despicable conduct. Election angst has nothing to do with ill-conceived and executed tariffs, a stupid and expensive war, hyper-aggressive immigration sweeps, staggering corruption, or boosting obviously flawed Senate candidates.

We're making essentially the same mistake with Iran that we made with North Korea. In both cases we had effective no-nuke agreements, failed to honor them, and instead threatened the other country. That's why there's a good chance we'll get the same result.

We are $40 trillion in debt and Israel has exhausted its public opinion over the last 20 years to the point that no military age men in America are willing to die for them anymore.

Republicans had two years to fix this country and they threw it all away to advance Bibi Netanyahu's political career...

How old are you?

Almost 80 and proud of it.

I was just curious bcs I havent met any young people who support this war as you do.

Just don't want Iran to have nukes that they would use against Israel and us if they could deliver them this far. Don't need another N. Korea. And worse they would use them many believe. The world is a dangerous place in case you had not noticed.

Pakistan has nukes and they arent any different than Iran.

Actually they are much different than Iran
