Some of our more intelligent members wanna translate this corporate gibberish?

I assume this is the first in a long series of planned surrenders to the LGBT juggernaut by our leadership in the name of "creating a safe place for gay students"

"The Board also participated in a discussion with Janet B. Dean, Ph.D., associate professor of psychology at Asbury University and co-author of "Listening to Sexual Minorities: A Study of Faith and Sexual Identity on Christian Colleges Campuses." The Board discussed the ability of faith-based universities, like Baylor, to provide a loving, caring community because of their Christian missions while providing LGBTQ students with the support essential to their holistic growth and formation as adults. As part of her work at Asbury, Dr. Dean is actively involved in research that explores the intersectionality between faith and psychology. Her ongoing projects include sexuality identity on faith-based campuses, sexuality and religiosity, thoughts of God and psychological well-being, forgiveness, and counselor self-care, in addition to various student projects that she facilitates."

Why would this be considered surrendering to an agenda and not an attempt to love people that Christ loves?

Should gay people not be around people of faith?

Last I checked you can still love a person despite their sins.

We all fall short.

Dunno, the note provided doesn't mention an organization or the meaning of the presence of one.

It talks about addressing the reality that gay people exist in a faith based institution.

Only a matter of time....look at our university leadership....they'll cave to secular society. When it does happen, adios. Except for the diploma on my office wall, my family is done with Baylor because recognizing this group is anathema to our Christian Mission.

Baylor doesn't have a divorce recognition group or a sex outside of marriage group, why would it recognize an LGBTQ group?

For clarity, the note does not say anything about recognizing anyone. It says that the Board was advised on how to provide a loving environment to people who probably need it the most.

There are gay people at Baylor, probably engaging in sinful acts....like everyone else at Baylor and anywhere else. If every sinner was thrown out of Baylor, we'd have no one left.

Divorce and adultery are false equivalences. LGBT people are not sinning. It is you who sins in condemnation

Perhaps you can point to the Constitution where it says that private entities are forced to recognize any specific group. No?

I know, but they didn't organize into a victim group that claims their deviant behavior is normal.

I believe lgbtq should be welcomed and loved at any University, how will someone ever repent if they don't see the love of Christ, from people that actually care about their eternal soul and not just the temporary.

That said, homosexual acts are sin, just as adultry and pre marital sex are sins. To deny that is simply rejection of Biblical truth, which unfortunately the progressive church majors in.
By the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved.

You had gay classmates at Baylor.
I had classmates at Baylor who were greedy too. And who were untruthful. And who were addicted to porn. What's your point?

Should Baylor have to say those things aren't sinful? In the name of "inclusivity" and so those people will feel loved?

Love the sinner

Go and sin no more. This could be said to the drunks, the liars, the cheats, the proud, the greedy, the selfish and yes, even the gays.

Baylor was a great place for a young man to go to school in the early 80s. There were 3 women to every two dudes and 80 percent of the dudes were gay. (Not that there was anything wrong with that.) Looking back I would not have changed a thing, except for maybe being a little bit better football player. Had I had just a little more size, strength, and speed, and athletic ability, I could have had an 18 year NFL career. AckAckAckAckAckAck!!!!!!

Society is different from the church. Yay.

They get a whole month of nationwide celebration. Can all groups get a month of celebration, too?

Hispanics, whites, straight, etc.
