Truly a fascinating situation. Trump is stupid enough to illegally take home classified Nuclear documents.

But, the government is absolutely (beyond) corrupt enough to plant evidence.

If Trump supporters are as crazy and violent as the left says they are, and they somehow charge Trump and get him off the ballot…would that not break the country in half?

If they think everything will be fine if they charge Trump, then their claims about his supporters can't be true.

Dude with Russian collusion, hookers, Putin…it's all outlandish, crazy and false. Now it's nuclear codes?!

You gotta realize they're lying to you. The Feds leak out of context or made up bs to the press in order to play politics. I don't know how y'all continue to be outraged by the likes of big pharma, the military and mega corporations because of government involvement but you won't entertain the idea that the intelligence community is also infected with politics.

So he has nuclear documents in boxes
at Mar Lago that the Government just realized were missing 18 months after he left office?

They misplaced the nuclear documents and just tracked it down? Am I allowed to ask why the nuclear documents were allowed to go missing this long before they acted?

So we have a combination of an ex- President taking nuclear docs as keepsakes & a DOJ that waited 18 months to retrieve. Maybe Cassidy deciphered them last week and we just found out they were missing.

Shouldn't joke. But does this seem a bit unusual?

Come on Sam, storing NUCLEAR DOCUMENTS at a private beach resort for 18 months? Now, they become "state secrets" national security issues 3 months before the 22 elections? For 18 months it was ok to go through attorneys, but this week it reached such a threat that we needed to send in 30 armed FBI agents? Sounds kosher to me...

They knew he took documents but probably didn't have the full scope of what he had. That's why they have been working on getting the documents he took back and had already recovered like 15 boxes. It's not like they suddenly said opps somethings missing they've been trying to recover this stuff through more peaceful means and have already recovered some of it before this search.

You'd be surprised what goes missing in the government and military when it shouldn't. If only I could tell stories I've heard from people I know regarding sensitive material going missing or being shipped to wrong place. But just know this scenario isn't far fetched at all when it comes to the government they are very inefficient and in many cases quite incompetent.

The boxes contain documents and mementos from Trump's presidency, reportedly including letters from Barack Obama and Kim Jong Un, and other correspondence with world leaders.

A legal source said that the boxes had been packed up by the General Services Administration and shipped to Mar-a-Lago when Trump left office in January 2020.

Trump's attorneys, led by Evan Corcoran, had been cooperating fully with federal authorities on the return of the documents to the National Archives and Records Administration, according to sources.

In May, Corcoran granted access into Mar-a-Lago's windowless storage room to FBI agents who spent several hours searching through the boxes. Trump stopped by the basement to say hello at one point, says someone who was there.

More access than Hillary or Bill or even Barack would give someone, yet they still felt like they had to raid his compound.

This is a fishing expedition. Who knows what they end of finding.

Quote:

FBI agents scoured Melania Trump's wardrobe and spent several hours combing through Donald Trump's private office, breaking open his safe and rifling through drawers when they raided the former First Family's Mar-a-Lago home in Florida Monday morning.

The Post has learned that the search warrant used by the FBI to enter the palatial Palm Beach property focused solely on presidential records and evidence of classified information being stored there.

Still can't believe those on here that lean left are ok with what happened here. Imagine them rifling through Barack's and Michelle's private wardrobe or office or home or breaking into their safe. And Obama was one of the most secretive, presidents there was. No telling what they would find raiding him.

Trump was cooperating, at least as much as any president will ever cooperate, this is overreach. Pure and simple.
Agree. It's a fishing expedition, but I think they don't care if they find anything unlawful to actually charge and convict. They just want to find something/anything that they could use to create narrative for the upcoming 2024 election. Something they could use to tarnish Trump and cast doubt about his campaign; they'd be happy to just have something hanging over his head.

The funny thing is though, that according to the left, everyone hates Trump, he's killed the Republican party, he lost all these female votes and no one likes him anymore, he's dead man walking. If that's the case, then he should be pretty easy to beat, right? After all, good 'ol Joe legitimately cleaned beat Trump like a red-headed stepchild in 2020 with 81 million votes. Shouldn't be a problem for 'ol joe to clean trump's clock again, right?
The way this will happen is "sources" inside the FBI will feed sensational information they find not related to the specific investigation to media in order to generate interest around other potential investigations. They'll find something like Trump being his usual idiot self with a communication where he says "they should shoot that SOB Pence." And it will become "Trump wanted to assassinate Pence."
And like clockwork, the leaks start.

I mean they have been getting some stuff back and so the peaceful channels were working until he didn't follow through with all the documents. When dealing with an former president you would hope they would be do exactly what they did and go through all peaceful venues first to get the material back which is what they did. I don't see how this would effect the 2022 election at all, if anything it could be used as a tool to rally the adamant trump supporters that may not be energized for the Republican candidates on the ticket to go out and vote even if they didn't like the Republican candidates on the ticket. I can't imagine this will rally any liberals to vote as Trump is not on the ticket, the abortion situation is more likely to drive out voters than trump having run ins with the law.

A) nothing he took is classified.. he declassified everything he took by the act of taking it when leaving office.

B) the FBI and NARA had access to the records previously and told him to make them more secure with an additional lock which he did.

As a former president, he has an office, a secured space and security. It was still safe and secure just like the 30000 pages of records Obama has..

Watching to see how the game of warrant chicken playes out..

The warrant affidavit was sealed so I would love to see who "snitched". Supposedly a USS guy..

So now, Garland has Trump in a corner.

His toadies in Congress have demanded the DOJ unseal the warrant.

The DOJ has gone to the judge and done just that.

Trump doesn't want us to know what the warrant says. Otherwise, he would have released it by now. He could have done that. He wants to spin this as government persecution, and the truth of the warrant and the process leading up to it will kill that spin.

So, if he fights the unsealing, he will confirm the fact that he's lying scum.

If he allows it to be unsealed, it will confirm the fact that he's lying scum. And possibly felonius lying scum.

Sadly, many of you will continue to believe his lies because you believe whatever he says, no matter what.

This is totally incorrect.

A) He has to formally declassify documents. His taking them home doesn't declassify them.

B) The FBI believed he had documents he hadn't disclosed. Apparently an informant in Trumpworld clued them in.

Now, we're hearing the docs may have been related to nukes.

Third, his office at Mara Lardo is not a secure classified facility.

The warrant won't tell you who the informant is.

So, you're wrong about it all.

Keep in mind that the raid was authorized against a person that could be their political oppenent in 2 years.

I'll ask the same sort of questions of the Biden DOJ. Why not just release the warrant? Why not let any Trump lawyers observe the FBI during the raid? Why hasn't there been a raid on hunter biden's residence? Why no raid on Obama over the docs he took and has never turned over? Why no raid on hillary clinton even after she destroyed evidence?

let me see if I have this right..

Trump was exposing nuclear secrets (not something stored in the national archive) at MAL and the DOJ authorized the FBI to raid the joint in order to protect national security but the President of the United States was left out of the loop.

WaPo wrote this trash: "Experts in classified information said the unusual search underscores deep concern among government officials about the types of information they thought could be located at Trump's Mar-a-Lago Club and potentially in danger of falling into the wrong hands."

Thought they COULD be?! So no proof.. lots of leaks of outlandish bullsh.. to the press.

Do these same govt officials understand as a former POTUS he has a special records storage area at his disposal to keep secrets safe and USS detail to keep him and the records safe all monitored by CCTV?

Third, his office at Mara Lardo is not a secure classified facility.

The warrant won't tell you who the informant is.

So, you're wrong about it all.

OK, my turn

A) Classification depends on a number of factors. Some classifications have sunset provisions so after a certain time they declassify (this was done so academics could access historical docs at Archives w/o a cumbersome process), while some are classified only under certain conditions (e.g. the President's travel plans for a given day are classified for that day and while in office bc routine, but are not classified once the POTUS becomes a former POTUS). Still other documents are classified according to who may or may not see them. For example, some documents would not be classified for Trump bc he created the document or already had prior knowledge of their content, but would be beyond the authority of the FBI agents who raided the residence. The absence of a Special Master at the scene therefore either implies that the documents were not sensitive, or else that the FBI royally screwed up.

B) Speculation. Also, the FBI regularly shields their informants by having the real source submit their tips through a third party who is paid by the FBI to play the role. The circumstances do not rule out someone with a grudge making up **** to go after Trump. There is, after all, precedent for just that behavior.

Regarding nukes, you're going to have a really hard time selling that claim. As POTUS, the closest thing Trump would have seen or handled with regard to nuclear weapons would the the SIOP, which by definition is partly created by the POTUS as CINC (see part A about who has authority to see such material), or an old nuclear codes card, which would be valueless and obsolete by the next day. All in all, that dog won't hunt.

As for 'secure facilities', depending on the level of classification any locked cabinet and door may be sufficient to meet the requirement for secure documents. You need to stop confusing movie glitz with the real world.

So, you're blowing smoke like a Cheech & Chong movie. Only you're not funny at all.
That which does not kill me, will try again and get nastier
