It's not either or. It's about applying the law equally. Promoting insurrection, and attempting to circumvent the Constitution is actually an attempt at destroying our Republic. If he had been successful, we would have given him a dictatorship, something he has alluded that he aspires. Why can't we as Rs acknowledge that Trump is a bad and dangerous actor? We'd be screaming from the hilltops if any D had done a fraction of what Trump has done. I don't subscribe to my guy at any cost. It's unfortunate that we allowed him to get where he is, but we can still stop him, although a lot of damage has been done.

If Trump really wanted a dictatorship, why didn't he declare martial law in May of 2020 under the guise of stopping Covid? Instead, he pretty much allowed the states to do what they wanted, the exact opposite of what an aspiring dictator would do.

In addition to Biden, you can blame Trump for the failure at the border. Trump, being a malignant narcissist, devoid of character, principle, ethics and morals, is the reason many Rs like me could not and will not vote for someone who conducts themselves like that in the WH. He cost us the House, Senate and the White House. You want to fix the border problem, you better get a majority in both houses and win back the WH in 2024. Be glad he isn't positioning himself for an indefinite term as president like Putin, and Jinping, which he has suggested for himself in the past. The majority of the country is not going to support a person like that. If we want to win, we need to nominate a better candidate. Biden is beatable - just not by Trump.

Not a good enough reason, at the time he thought he could ride the economy back into office. That's why he admitted lying to the public about how serious Covid was in his Woodward taped interview. You don't just declare martial law, and you have to be sure the military officer corps, not to mention rank and file enlisted personnel will back you. I assure you, if he ever thought he had that support he would have tried it. But for that mind set, why else would he seek loyalty to him personally over the constitution in every staff member, and appointee. Like or not, the facts and history are going to reveal Trump for the rogue he is/was.

Do not want to see the names Biden, Trump, Harris, Obama, or Clinton on the ballot in 2024. We need someone that can find a way to pull our country back together. I like DeSantis, but he is not near swampy enough for the left side of the aisle. We shall see.

Double standards undermine democracy. I do not recall the Clintons being raided to recover stolen items from the White House or Obama being raided for refusing to return documents. Sort of like Eric Holder not being prosecuted for refusing a Congressional subpoena or election denial is only a problem if one side does it or if you burn, loot, murder for six months and get bailed out by Democrats that's totally fine.

It's amazing how many diehards are willing to follow Trump a party down the sewer pipe. But, maybe not so amazing. People defended Nixon Stalin, Hitler, and Mao until they didn't, because they couldn't.
Some of us are more concerned with polity and democracy than unserious political memes and disinformation. But please tell us how returning Huckleberry Finn will save democracy.

You do realize what Nixon did was peanuts compared to what the Obama and Biden campaigns have done. The only difference is Nixon used former FBI guys while Obama and Biden used current ones.

Stealing from the public will not end democracy. Minimizing the crime doesn't make you an edgelord.

Double standards undermine democracy. I do not recall the Clintons being raided to recover stolen items from the White House or Obama being raided for refusing to return documents.
To be fair, part of that might have to do with the fact that they didn't steal anything.

Has Trump been arrested yet for keeping Of Mice and Men too long?
No, but he should be, and probably will be
And there it is:

Go after the annoying man who did no harm, and ignore the ones who actually are destroying our Republic.

Way to go, Brandon.
We'd be screaming from the hilltops if any D and done a fraction of what Trump has done. I don't subscribe to my guy at any cost. It's unfortunate that we allowed him to get where he is, but we can still stop him, although a lot of damage has been done.
The very first act of your President was for him to reverse all of Trump's immigration policies. The invasion at our Southern Border is real. Our country is under siege! Yet you, and your fellow Democrats really don't seem to care that millions of illegals are being released into the country and they are all by law forbidden to work! What could possibly go wrong?

The January 6th outrage is laughable. Kinda like a mosquito on an elephant's ass compared to what is about to happen. I truly fear for the safety of my fellow South Texans.

Exactly right
agree 100%, but you left out being impeached TWICE!
you forgot both times were absolute bull****

Trump also did not steal anything. Either GSA stole them or they already belong to Trump and you can't steal stuff you already own..

Remember when the FBI leaked Trump stole the nuclear codes to sell to China?

Where in the article does it say he didn't steal classified documents? I didn't know he sold them to China.

JR is a smart guy…..no doubt he recalls how various Dems were publicly threatening to impeach Donald Trump before he was even inaugurated.

Both impeachments were obviously politically motivated by an opposition party in control of both the House and the Senate .

I don't like Trump ….never want to see him hold public office again .

But the impeachments were reprehensible.
