Sounds about right. Companies have used computer programs for years to filter out resumes of people who weren't qualified but at least with those people could write their resume to beat that. With AI it seems that has not been figured out how to beat the AI so you aren't automatically rejected.

I can't imagine how soulless it would feel to be interviewed by an AI agent.

I haven't had to do that but I have had to do the video "interview" and it is soulless and hard.

They all seem to follow the same format: they give you a few questions and you have 2-3 minutes to answer. No introductions. No "tell me about yourself" why do you want this job, background, why you are a good fit. Just here are some questions. You get two chances per question to record it. Maybe 30 seconds to a minute to prep after seeing the question.

I once had one that was 3 questions. Took longer to get dressed than the interview.

Just call Best Buy with a question for an AI interview demonstration.

I am sure with advanced technology these will end up being safer than ones with human drivers… but in my head a driverless semi makes me nervous.

Right now I wouldn't trust them. Eventually I think it would be much better than the human drivers falling asleep, not able to read signs, driving with the attitude of "I'm bigger get out of my way," or driving off after changing lanes into someone like happened this week in Waco.

Yes it was brutal. And then super frustrating to not move to the round of live interviews because you have no clue what they were actually looking for or any idea how to improve.

Fear I would have is not the tech, but the jobbers setting the parameters for profitability. You tell it to push, the tech will push. Good people that tried and pioneered some cool tech. The business case has to be overcome to make it work.

I would trust them better than some of the drivers with licenses out of Cali and NY that read or write English

Not in a construction zone. Self driving trucks would have to pull off - if they could figure that out without blocking up the construction crews - and wait for help at a couple of zones near me.

BREAKING: Europe is under a massive cyber attack, with supermarket fridges and freezers in Belgium, Sweden, Luxembourg, Ireland, the Netherlands, Finland and Estonia all hacked today by raising temperatures to up to 50C, destroying huge quantities of food, per Reuters.

"Everything is destroyed," a sales manager in Sweden said, adding that "there has been a cyberattack and all our freezers reached 50 degrees."

More than 40 supermarkets in Belgium and Luxembourg were affected. "I only have two words for them: wake up, please, because there's something going on," a store manager in Belgium said.

This follows a similar cyberattack last month that hit hundreds of supermarkets in France, raising freezers as high as 80C and causing major food losses.

It also comes after freezers at 6 US military bases mysteriously malfunctioned, spoiling large quantities of food, which the Pentagon is investigating as a suspected cyberattack.

Not having mechanical failsafes in food storage is a huge mistake. We never learn, it seems.

Why they are even connected to the internet seems stupid to me. Maybe some sort of intranet so they can be monitored from a central location in the store sure but no need to monitor them online from anywhere in the world.
