Decheetah, AP, Slimecap...or anyone that keeps up with these recruits: who would you say is our 3 to 5 most likely to get commited to BU?

IMO, We sure need one big name soon to get the ball rollkng.
My understanding is that the Top Two focuses in recruiting are:

1) mobile posts

2) length on the wing

based upon that wishlist, think SaMyah Smith may be first. We are a great geographical fit for her [close to home, close to family farm].

Definitely recruiting several "long" [think 6'0 to 6'2] wings. Any of them might be "the one".

A third recruiting priority is outside shooting. Pure floor spacer. But think that want is definitely behind the first two needs.

I don't see it with Smith to BU, see Tech or LSU or Arizona.

2022 icould be difficult as relationships were built the past 3 years with them, not 3 months ago.
Smith was coming to BU before Kim left. Sure hope CNC can find a way to get her to Waco.

It could be difficult. I would be surprised if a single recruit has walked away from a visit with CNC and staff and not been impressed. I think it's more about the unknown,,,what's does a CNC's program look like on the court at this level.

Mykayla Wiiliiams is the top recruit in the class of 2023, and is exceptional. She is about as near a program changer as one player can be, but as we know, basketball is a team sport. I have no idea whether she has an interest in Baylor, but she is a Wow! player.

I agree with the breakdown that Adriacus has outlined about need, as well as the difficulties which lie ahead for this staff. The current roster is severely out of balance, loaded at the top but woefully thin in the bottom two classes. The changeover in coaching staffs means that we will be starting behind the other programs, so we will have to turn to the transfer portal next Spring. This will be a very important year for us, as others have pointed out.

And?
Exactly. She may have wanted to play for Kim - after years of recruitment and establishing a relationship. That's the point Brian and others have made. CNC - and any other coach in her shoes - doesn't have that benefit. You made it seem (intentionally or not) that Smith was already coming to Baylor, so CNC should be able to bring her in easily.

I used the word hope. Hope doesn't in any way express that it will be easy for CNC to bring in a recruit. We are a premier program 60 miles from one of the top HS basketball programs in the State of Texas with one of the top players in the State so again I hope we can find a way to pull Smith to BU. This was a player who had major interest in BU before the coaching change and again I HOPE CNC can somehow get her to Waco. I also personally would like to see her here as it's the HS I attended many moons ago.

At one point it was anticipated that Sammie Wagner would narrow her list around this time. Any new news on this or where she is leaning? Maddie Cox is very quiet on her recruitment. I didn't hear much on her during the AAU season,,,good season? Has Maddie met with CNC? These two have always seemed the main focus, for we fans anyway, for obvious reasons.
On a related note,,,Some posters are certain that we get neither of these two. Where does that come from?

I hope the additions of UCinn and UCF help us with K. Arnold, K.K. Bransford in Ohio and Abraham, T. Morgan and C. Kitts and others in Florida. Might help with the Michigan players too.

As someone who spent several years living in LA - extremely true. LA is great, and offers tremendous NIL opportunities (though women's basketball isn't a huge draw), but my roommate worked on campus and it was ROUGH.

My first roommate was from Compton. When he went back for Christmas, someone emptied a shotgun into an elderly lady who lived across the street on his first night home. He just gave up on the place that night.

Unofficial visit taken Georgia Tech
Morgan said she will likely take official visits to "probably" Baylor, North Carolina and Georgia Tech.

Brian -

Sunday morning, before heading home after the football game, I saw CNC having breakfast with whom I think was a recruit and her mom. She was wearing a t-shirt with the name "Scott" on the back. As they were finishing eating, the staff showed up (Tari, Tony and Chloe) along with Jaden. Any idea who that may be? Thanks.
