Obviously, this is no longer really true. The lines on the map are still there, but the divisions are profound and real. The responses you see on this board are a microcosm of this reality. I find many things about Trump I don't like at all. You can rant all you like about growing a spine and post in all CAPS until your finger tips bleed, but that won't alter the fundamental truth (or, "my truth" as your kind likes to style it) that there is not a single democrat candidate actually in the race that I would come anywhere close to voting for ever. Why can't YOU DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT?! When will you demand better than Trump from your side?
When you strip away your incessant whining/TDS, there is a very real culture clash and contest of ideas which are incompatible and mutually exclusive. With no workable compromises available, the only sensible end game is winning by whatever means are available. You should just admit and accept you could never fully support anyone on the right over against anyone on the left. You cool with that?
