Laughing at comments about recruiting rankings by folks that know little/nothing about the game.

FYI, 99% of all "Bigs" in WBB recruiting are development players. Finding a "plug & play" big is like winning the lottery. You can count on your fingers the number of Bigs that were ready to play from Day 1 at high level WBB programs over the past two decades.

Recruiting Bigs means looking at athleticism, body makeup, height, reach, hands, etc. with a view to skill mastery capability not current skills.

Abraham can easily be compared to Mompremier. Late bloomer with decent size and athleticism. Unlike Mompremier, she doesn't have a REALLY messed up jumpshot.

Laci came on a unofficial visit. From what I could tell she had a good AAU season. Very competitive and relentless hustle. She is a very likable, humble person. Baylor would seem to be a good fit for her, and her personality would certainly fit CNC's program. No offer that I know of. Her game may need to be raised a bit for that. Just my worthless 2 cents.

Things have been quiet.

For 2022, we are waiting on decisions from:

Darianna Littlepage-Buggs
Bella Fontleroy
Catarina Ferreira (JUCO)?

Anyone I missed? This is just spit-balling on my part, but,,,, I would like to believe we are a strong contender for Darianna. A Ark. rag had a article on Bella following her official visit there. The quotes from Bella in the article lead me to think she is a Ark lean. That was before her official to BU. As to Catarina. Other than it said we have offered her,,,I got exactly zero on where her recruiting stands.

Thoughts?

I really believe the transfer portal is going to be booming this year because a lot of good talent will not get to play because of huge rosters. South Carolina for one has i believe 17+ players and all are talented. So be ready for players to go to a good program like baylor because we have minutes and a coaching staff that i believe can do great things. And our players know players and i'm sure they talk to one another about these situations.

I think we have a great shot at Buggs also. Although I would love to have Fontleroy as well I think Arkansas is the leader as well. Hope we can come out with at least one on the two.

I think the Bears have good shots at both DLP and Fontleroy.

Fontleroy was definitely an Arkansas lean, and she may still end up there, but the path to earlier playing time is clearer at Baylor.

If that matters - it may not. She has a lot of ties to coaches and players in Fayetteville.

I also think she enjoyed her trips to VA Tech and Arizona, fwiw. Have heard her decision may not come until right around signing day, but that isn't confirmed.

I agree. Her commitment could be very much a shocker if she commits to VT, TT, or AZ. But not so much if she commits to Arky. If she wants to have a chance to play immediately I think Baylor will be a good swing for her.
