But I think we all know that money is not always the driving force in employment. Sometimes it's location, sometimes opportunity, sometimes benefits and sometimes a combination of those things and more.

If I suck at making great business choices but I'm a great draftsman how does company A get me over company B, all other things being equal?

Benefits are a tool the employer uses. A free market would not take that tool away.

The companies could take the money they would save from not subsidizing employee healthcare and pay their employees more. That would also help recruit new talent.
Apply that concept to federal subsidies and take home pay and you can get a Libertarian Party membership card.

I know, and I am good with that. If the libertarians ever trot out a viable candidate they will prob get my vote.

I hear you but the tool didn't go away. The tool has always been money (in one form or another). The tool changed names from "Benefits" to "Compensation"

Basic arithmetic comes to play here:

Cruz received 1.3 million primary votes.

O'Rourke received 650k primary votes.

Total Republican primary turnout: 1.54 million

Total Democrat primary turnout: 1.03 million

These people are the likely voters, so what's the result going to be?

On top of that, Governor Greg Abbott is polling 20 points ahead, how many people are going to vote for Greg Abbott but not Ted Cruz? Beto better not count on that.

Do this for Gillum vs DeSantis in Florida please

I just did it, give me your opinion

R - DeSantis 900,000+ votes

D - Gillum a little less than 600,000

Republican turnout 1.6 million and democrat 1.5

Both faced 2-3 opponents

Gillum is hardline Socialist and last thing our booming Florida economy needs now
Florida is a definite race with only 100k partisan votes separating the two, the swing voters actually matter.

A Little Lesson for the Baylor for Beto Kiddos:

A young woman was about to finish her first year of college. Like so many others her age, she considered herself to be a very liberal Democrat, and was very much in favor of the redistribution of wealth.
She was deeply ashamed that her father was a rather staunch Republican, a feeling she openly expressed. Based on the lectures that she had participated in, and the occasional chat with a professor, she felt that her father had for years harbored an evil, selfish desire to keep what he thought should be his.
One day she was challenging her father on his opposition to higher taxes on the rich and the addition of more government welfare programs. The self-professed objectivity proclaimed by her professors had to be the truth and she indicated so to her father. He responded by asking how she was doing in school.

Taken aback, she answered rather haughtily that she had a 4.0 GPA, and let him know that it was tough to maintain, insisting that she was taking a very difficult course load and was constantly studying, which left her no time to go out and party like other people she knew. She didn't even have time for a boyfriend, and didn't really have many college friends because she spent all her time studying.
Her father listened and then asked, "How is your friend Audrey doing?"
She replied, "Audrey is barely getting by. All she takes are easy classes, she never studies, and she barely has a 2.0 GPA. She is so popular on campus; college for her is a blast. She's always invited to all the parties, and lots of times she doesn't even show up for classes because she's too hung over."
Her wise father asked his daughter, "Why don't you go to the Dean's office and ask him to deduct a 1.0 off your GPA and give it to your friend who only has a 2.0. That way you will both have a 3.0 GPA and certainly that would be a fair and equal distribution of GPA."

The daughter, visibly shocked by her father's suggestion, angrily fired back, "That wouldn't be fair! I have worked really hard for my grades! I've invested a lot of time, and a lot of hard work! Audrey has done next to nothing toward her degree. She played while I worked my tail off!"

The father slowly smiled, winked and said gently, "Welcome to the Republican Party."

Both will have to underperform miserably among dominant culture voters to lose. Lupe very well may but Beto won't. Their numbers in the black community will be in the 90s.

probably.... R voters in Texas are such sheep. They've been voting against their own interests so long I don't see them stopping now....

but it says something about Jose Jimenez that he crawled to the guy who calls him Lyin Ted to beg for help in a Senate race in freaking Texas.

money spent here may help someone with a better chance in another state

Same thing happened to my brother in law

Sent my previously conservative niece off to college racking up huge debt and she became a raging Socialist barely making GPA for a degree in General Studies or something like that

Sad story

They paid and went in debt to have their daughter ruined. Now she's living back at home with them, unemployed and unemployable in Houston and says she can't go to sleep unless she smokes pot. She was opposite until going off to college

Is that what is meant by "higher" education?
