I suppose so: April was Bay or Pigs, May was JFK's disastrous meeting with Khrushchev in Vienna. Soon after, he decided to send nukes to Cuba resulting in the Missile Crisis of October 1962--the most dangerous one of the Cold War.

If you ever managed to take Journalism 1301 (aka "Travels with Loyal Gould") during the late 70s/ early 80s, he told lots of stories about being Berlin bureau chief for either AP or NBC (don't remember which) during construction of the wall.

Maybe the first time, with the Speedwell, but they were forced to turn around when the Speedwell proved unseaworthy. The actual departure was in September.

Just think, the Mayflower Madam could have been the Speedwell Madam if not for a leaky dick, uh deck.

Actually, once at sea, Captain Brody assessed the situation and declared, 'We're going to need a bigger boat' and returned to port.

Also, once safely on shore at Plymouth Rock a few of the teenagers engaged in 'boy talk' while exploring Nantucket Island and the limerick was born.

1920: 19th amendment to the U.S. Constitution was ratified granting women the right to vote

1941: Hitler suspended the T4 euthanasia program because of a public outcry. In reality, it only became more secret and was moved to the concentration camps where it eventually became part of the Holocaust.

1920: Professional football began as Jim Thorpe and a few others organized the American Professional Football Conference.

1858: First of several debates between Democrat Stephen A. Douglas and Republican Abraham Lincoln for Douglas's U.S. Senate seat.
