That possible scenario has been mentioned several times in this forum. Hence my question here yesterday as to whether the equestrian team members allegedly involved have been suspended/separated from said team.
Well per a source it's gonna get murky. I'm gonna bet the DA's office actually passes on prosecuting assault for once. But what I heard definitely confirms my stance on the athletic department pulling its head out of its butt and bringing the fire and brimstone to every athlete on campus.

We need a giant talk with parents there. I'm sick of these kids pulling this bs.

No I'm not freaking kidding you. I believe in our new president and that things will change for the good or the better. I'm praying for the better. And when you criticize my Baylor you are criticizing my friends who dearly love her. Now get over yourself! You as well as I don't know everything. But we can still fight and pray instead of this endless bitterness. You think I don't know how it hurts our school every time we are on the news and laughed at by other schools! Baylor is a proud old school and I never let some twit like you bring her down!!!! You can be angry but this is your school too. I was raised under Abner McCall and he was a strong person. No way in hell will I not fight or stand up for Baylor. Now run along and play
I don't know why in the Hell you are jumping all over me and making wild ass assumptions that I am not a die hard life long Baylor fan or love my University, but you couldn't be more wrong. Take your high and mighty BS and shove it gramps! I will continue to love Baylor, but I'll be damned if I'm going to sit in silence at the completely pathetic actions, or lack there of, by it's so called "leadership". I'm asking for those that are in leadership position to stand up to the false narratives, the wild accusations that are based solely on allegations, etc... Instead we get some members of our own damn BOR being the ones facilitating the misinformation on a national level.

Don't give me your "old school" omniscient BS, and claim I am "bringing her down". The so called "leaders" of this University are the ones that have done irreparable damage to my school. You go on and pray, and whatever else you feel will change the course we are on, but I will continue to ask for new leadership that actually has a spine and will not tolerate my University continuing to be destroyed by the media and public in general.

The damage is not irreparable.
That is your opinion. In my opinion, to some degree, the damage is permanent. While Baylor will continue on, in some ways it will never be the same as it was before this entire fiasco unfolded.

I hope your source is correct. From what I know about the incident, there was a whole lot of stupid on both sides. Yes, they should all be punished but not have their Baylor education and reputations destroyed. I just hope the athletic department doesn't go Medieval on the football players just to make a point. It could do more harm than good. Stupid kids! They need to have the opportunity to learn from their mistakes.

This equestrian event pretty much proves the BOR #$cked up and acted in haste in an attempt to calm the media feeding frenzy. Matt Rhule is no more equipped to prevent his players and Baylor students in general from having sex than Art Briles was. Such a damn shame we chose to destroy our own football program all in the name of spiritual vanity and protecting the brand. Saddest part is most of these decision makers are still in place and don't appear to be going anywhere anytime soon.

OK. I guess I assumed he wasn't involved because Rhule said those 4 had been suspended for "different disciplinary reasons" or something like that. Sounds like that might not be entirely straightforward.

The biggest piece of this puzzle missing is.......The Truth.

The BOR refuses to tell the truth..... although they do not lie, they just don't tell the truth. How ethical is it for President Livingstone to say that this is a highly ethical group of persons on the BOR when they hide the truth? Can you be ethical, and not tell the truth? That to me is not ethical.

Tell me, if you knew the truth, would you all be doing this speculation?

Gotta salute some of the points here....a serious "come-to-Jesus meeting" needs to happen, one which includes students and parents. This especially has to occur for scholarship students, be they athletes or not. Everybody needs to understand that some activity is unacceptable even knowing that kids make stupid decisions, and that the "prizes" some mention aren't ones anyone wants to take home.

People with multiple "suspensions" for irresponsible behavior need to lose the schollie but be allowed to stay in school with the proviso that the schollie can be re-earned by performance. The sport or academic endeavor doesn't matter. The argument that a kid cant afford to lose the schollie has to be the big hammer everyone understands going into the student scholarship relationship upon matriculation.

I'm all in for grace and understanding of youthful indiscretions so long as lessons are being taught and learned, but check out with ongoing intentional irresponsibility on the part of self-serving individuals. As an example, with a small class of football recruits for 2019 mirrored by a deep class of quality players, unless a kid is a world-beater I wouldn't blink to move on from chronic problem students...and that applies to any sport and any field of study. If a student doesn't have some appreciation for what he/she is experiencing at BU, then they need to experience "school" somewhere else.

Okay Keyser. Perhaps I am not giving Baylor enough credit. It looks like Baylor has improved greatly in filling out paperwork.

Briles was criticized (and fired) for allowing "bad dudes" to remain on campus. It just appears to me that Rhule is being held to a different standard and that that sucks! Like jumpinjoe said, had the BOR just laid out the truth from the beginning, we would truly be making progress, in my opinion.

I'm all on board with the Christian Mission, but the BOR needs to realize we have real world issues like any other college campus in the country. Sexual assault protocol and procedures need to protect both Baylor women AND Baylor men. We are not there yet.

Nope. Some dumb moves can be overcome; some can't. And some should never be overlooked or excused. Performance was a poor word choice here....better way to say that is to say changed behavior can redeem a situation. Got nothing to do with playing a sport but has everything to do with academic performance though, and living in a community.

Anything ringing a bell? ..... there is so much more .....

You don't know why Briles was fired. They are still hiding all that information.

Actually, we don't know why Briles wasn't fired (for cause).
Thank you. Accuracy wanders about the Baylor context begging for bread these days.
