I simply was showing that there are far more English speakers in the Indian (as a 1st or 2nd language) than people realize.
They are not immune from the social/cultural changes coming about in the rest of the English speaking world.
For instance there are several articles out there talking about how the English language is a vector for the spread of liberal social values. Nations with high English speaking populations for instance have more advanced and power LGTBQ movements than nations that do not.
