It is amazing and laughable how people let politics interfere with facts. US GDP growth over the last 8 quarters has been the envy of the developed world. One bad day in the market and its the Great Depression all over again accordingto MAGA.

BTW, if you blame Biden for the (alleged) upcoming recession, you credit him for the remarkable post-COVID growth in the economy up to now.

We had a recession in 2020 ... the Orwellian media just redefined the word the mean "cannot happen under a Democrat."

Bad day or bad month...

Quote:

Job growth in the US badly missed expectations in July and the unemployment rate jumped to the highest rate in almost three years.

Employers added 114,000 jobs last month, according to Labor Department data released Friday, far below the Dow Jones estimate of 185,000.

The unemployment rate also edged higher to 4.3 percent - the highest level since October 2021.

The Federal Reserve held interest rates steady at a 23-year high earlier this week

Wait for the revised job #'s later this month. They are usually less than the original numbers posted...so today was probably the good news.

I will use this one that happened to me yesterday.

I live in Northwest Houston. I went to Kroger's yesterday for a quick grocery trip. As such, I grabbed the small shopping cart. I loaded the cart with mostly common items - milk, eggs, juice, cheese, hamburger meat, etc.

Altogether at checkout, my bill was $204.55. The young clerk said "hard to believe you fit 200 dollars worth of stuff into that small cart."

My response: "Good point, you could not have done that 5 years ago."

This is Biden's economy.

This is Biden's economy.

And it was all completely avoidable. Unnecessary government stimulus spending combined with completely stupid energy policies artificially created it. And yet millions are still going to vote for more of it or indirectly support more of it out of irrational hatred of Trump.

Yet the GOP ran a Candidate that inspires that type of hate.

You guys don't see anything wrong with that? Why run a Candidate that has no chance of winning over a large part of electorate? But it seems many think it is more realistic that they will put aside their personal hatred of Trump. Most people won't vote for someone that do not like.

But I am sure calling them idiots and having TDS is going to be effective in getting their votes.

That has nothing to do with a recession in 2021 or the media not calling it a recession in 2021.

It does point to chickens coming home to roost after out of control spending by both Trump and Biden, and trepidation of the Fed to raise interest rates "too soon" when we were coming out of Covid though, but that still doesn't have anything to do with my point.

The other piece is the overvaluation of stock. Tesla had more value than GM and never made a dime. What Berkshire is dumping is the overvalued stock. Stock was getting so high people were buying % shares of Apple, Tesla. Ridiculous. It is correcting and Berkshire will go on a buying spree.

B.S. Rather than being "inspired by Trump" the irrational hate is overwhelmingly manufactured by the dimcrat controlled MSM. The Big Lie strategy continues to be alive and well. Most of the people that profess to hate Trump can't specifically say why and simply resort to a lot of name calling because of what they''ve been duped into thinking.

Unlike the Dems, the GOP allows its voters to pick its candidate. The "GOP" had nothing to do with Trump winning the primaries and, in fact, fought against him.

Duped?

He has done quite enough for people to form an opinion that they don't like him, trust him or want him anywhere near power. He has a track record of flaming out on projects, see Atlantic City, USFL, Trump Airlines, Trump University, Trump Vodka, Trump Steaks...

Want to go into the sound clips from his TV days?

The Jan 6th Speech, some actually believe that was inexcusable for a sitting President to do on the day of election certification. They are not duped, they don't agree with him. There is no duping involved, many people just don't trust him.

So far, it looks like he has been able to get enough votes when the option was Biden. Now, he is getting a challenge for the Independents and Moderates. His reactions have not been good. People voting against Trump have not been tricked, just like those voting for him have not been tricked.
