To give you an idea of how bad this is, our 30 year is now yielding 25 basis points more than the Greek 30 year, and 25 basis points less than Argentina's.

There is absolutely zero chance I would hold 30 year notes from any of them.

As you compare risk and solvency, the Swiss 30 year is only yielding 0.56%.

Average actual cost at George Washington University is (AI, so take it with a grain of salt) 45K.

They have a $2.8 billion endowment, a $22 million deficit, and they have budget and hiring freezes. It's just kind of wild to think about.

That's crazy, I saw the $45k number too. I'm seeing $35-39k for Georgetown, much more bang for your buck in my opinion

For the 2025-2026 academic year, Clemson University's in-state tuition and fees are approximately $15,854 per year. My daughter will be going to Clemson or possibly Carolina for those prices. I still have about 6 years until shes going off to college.

That's a steal. State universities are the way to go these days. Delaware has a good in-state program where you take your first 60 credits at a community college for free and then you're automatically admitted into University of Delaware for the final 2 years. Obviously everyone wants to be on campus for 4 years but it's a great deal for folks who don't wanna break the bank

Do you know the "all in" cost to go to Clemson including room and board?

I've got a kid at TT and the all in cost was about $22,000 a year which was one better values we could find.

I think the all in is around 28k. A lot of kids are doing this bridge campus thing where you go to an even cheaper off campus version of Clemson for your first year but my daughter is straight A's and honors so I dont I think she will have a problem going to reguilar campus. I think College of Charleston is also pretty cheap but the problem there is finding an affordable place to live in Charleston. EDIT: NVM CofC is is 34k in state so not pretty cheap. It seems like a school for rich kids from the northeast.

I dont know the costs at Coastal Carolina but I would guess its pretty cheap bc that seems like a gloriified community college to me.

For the 20242025 academic year, Coastal Carolina University undergraduate tuition for full-time students (1218 credits) is $5,820 per semester for in-state residents and $14,814 for out-of-state residents.

  • Housing & Meals: Average room and board expenses are roughly $7,340 per year, though specific, 2025-2026 housing rates range from $2,860 to $4,340 per semester.

I'm just not a big ground beef eater to begin with. I'll make burgers sometimes...but I'm more frequently getting ribeyes, brisket, or top sirloin cap when it comes to beef. Brisket is the winner there when it comes to price...as long as you can put the time in.

$18 trillion in IOUs (commitments) is not going to cut it much longer. We need to see something besides sunshine, rainbows, and unicorn farts.
Call it a tax, the people are outraged! Call it a tariff, the people get out their checkbooks and wave their American flags!!!

Well kids, we are half way to a recession. Previous quarter=negative growth. We imported more from Ghina last quarter than any quarter since covid. Businesses from loaded inventory purchased to get underneath the first wave of Tariffs. Full on Tariffs bout to get ugly. Donnie...you were right. Tariffs are kick ass. Goldman upped their recession probability at 70% up from 30%. Welcome to the Golden Shower! oh,,I mean Age.

Eh I mean this is followed by a revised loss of 133,000 jobs in February.

Most of these workers are in healthcare and a huge portion of that just from workers on strike in healthcare.

Long term employment is a huge problem. The number of people unemployed for 27 weeks or more held at 1.8 million in March but has risen by 322,000 over the past year.

My son went to A&M, even out of state with the scholarship was very reasonable. Actually less expensive than Florida State in-state.
