You're probably correct, we will probably never get rid of the debt but we must at least try. Only once in our history has the US been debt free (about 200 years ago) and the vast majority of our $40 trillion in national debt is from the past 25 years.

Only way is going to be a cash flow model we are not going to lump sum pay or cut spending. Increase revenue and manage cost if money.

You have a better way that can actually be implemented?

I agree that we need a plan to handle the debt. That said, there is no chance whatsoever, that career politicians will support any plan that puts their office at risk.

There is good news of a sort, though. First is that pretty much every major nation has a debt problem, so world leaders will not be inclined to push aggressively against other nations on their rivals. The second is that the US economy is diversified and relatively healthy enough to handle a lot of rough years without defaulting, which is the major tripwire risk here.

The real danger is the growing number of economic morons, who actually believe and promote some very dangerous idiocies, a la AOC's notion of Monetary policy or the lunacy of the current NYC mayor. If one of their ilk gets into the Oval Office, the worst becomes very possible.
That which does not kill me, will try again and get nastier

I miss Munchen, Berlin, Prague, and Wien. Those are my favorite places in Europe although I have not been in a long time.

you don't even know what we are talking about. Not getting out of your county and the Meth Stills you think we are referring to pork skins at your local gas station where your Daddy gets his Marlboro Reds and his 12 pack! You are definately a culinary genius. Enjoy your lunchables in your Buzz Light Year lunch box.

Cologne is one of my favorite cities... I know it is a bit liberal for this crowd, but the Cathedral, Kolsch, and the waitresses that bring you beer until you say stop. How can you not love it? I am going back in November.

Try Mainz some time, outside Frankfurt on the Rhine. The Hilton on the River is one of my favorites...

You know, a culinary thread would be worth it. Cooked my way through my first two years of college, which is why it took 4 years...

Went to Mainz at the Hilton on the River, couldn't figure out what wine my wife would like. Bartender gave me full glass samples of three he liked. No charge, they were all local and he viewed it as marketing. He was shocked I tipped him, I had to talk him into taking it. Told him it was for his wine expertise, he liked that. The Hilton's in Europe are a different level than the US...

Thank you. Appreciate it. Looking forward to it.

Just a side note, I do appreciate you and those that we can banter on different issues without being personal or disliking. Maybe it was the groups I grew up with in NY or the military, but we rarely agreed on things and still got along. A missing trait now days. Tip of the cap to you and others that are good people, but we disagree on some things.

Florida becomes first state to ban welfare for tattoos, video games, theme parks, other "non-essential" goods

https://notthebee.com/article/florida-becomes-first-state-to-ban-welfare-for-tattoos-video-games-theme-parks-other-non-essential-goods

This is on top of all the fraud, most of which still needs to be exposed. To be honest, this kind of waste further illustrates how many govt programs need to be greatly curtailed or eliminated completely. Almost all of them.

I look forward to Texas doing the same thing.
