BREAKING: The odds of a September interest rate hike surge to 79% after US CPI inflation hits 3.4% in August.

It is incredible to think that, at the start of 2026, markets were expecting the Fed's 3rd interest rate CUT of the year this month.

Inflation roars on and "higher for longer" is back.

what the real driver is....increased yield on the 10yr. That has Wall Street and Investors nervous . Definitely a rate hike. Can't wait to see Trumps reaction to his hand picked Chair.

If he believes tariffs are good economic policy and he wants to put America first… Why would he remove a tariff just because Ireland asked?

As I understand Trump's tariff policies, they have always been negotiating tactics. He has had some success with it.

"Other than all the inflation caused by my policies and war, prices are coming down! Also it's all Joe Biden's fault!"

Not to excuse Biden and his policies, but after the Covid shut down and massive stimulus during that time (policies and money approved during Trump's first term), there was no realistic way inflation was not going to take off in 2021-22 as the economy reopened. It may (and probably is) be fair to say the Biden polities worsened inflation or prolonged it, but they did not cause it, and inflation was very much declining prior to the 2024 election. It then remained mostly steady or backed down further over the first year of Trump 2, then ratchet up again meaningfully after we attacked Iran.

They were coming down under Biden too. It was the COVID recovery. Just like Trump doesn't deserve blame for job loss during COVID. Biden doesn't for the inflation that came after. We are now 5 years out from COVID. What we have today, is all on Trump

Trump has definitely been breaking a lot of records! He blames most all of them on Joe Biden.

I expect shortly after lunch tomorrow, Jerome Powell will be laughing his ass off!!!

I wonder what cute nickname Trump will give Kevin Warsh? I am betting on "Worthless Wrong Way Warsh".

Never dreamed Trump would bully Canada and Mexico into the arms of others. Self-inflicted wound. Our next President will spend his term mending fences with our former allies.

Trump's actions continue to make him perhaps the worst foreign policy President in the modern era.

I read that the US put a clause in the trade negotiations that prevented Canada from acquiring other trade partners. That's why Canada walked away.

I am pretty skeptical about this. Last I checked, Canada is a sovereign nation. So is Mexico.
