Well....it looks like consumers are making it clear that a lot of them are not going to pay these higher prices. Something will have to give.

No worries. Trump will be sending tariff rebate checks soon.

Delivered by a local National Guardsman patrolling your neighborhood...

My neighborhood needs no National Guardsmen. Everyone is packing. May use my Trump tariff "refund"check to buy more ammo.

Yeah, it starts with just the bad places...

Start with law enforcement. The Government is here to keep you safe.

Then it becomes checkpoints, usually controlling the intersections. These area are safe, so we want to keep them this way.

Then its too many unaccounted for weapons. Do not bring your weapons out as the Fed troops can't distinguish between you and bad guys.

Yeah, Federalizing cities is a good thing...

Really surprised how quickly the Government has not right in our lives people rolled over on Washington DC. Some even applauding a President for calling in Federal troops to neighborhoods.

Washington is, by its constitutional definition, a federal city.

Yeah, fits the American image of Democracy...

Just what they had in mind...

Hot take - I feel safer with the bottom image. I saw a dude pissing on the subway this morning; I'd take national guard over that any day of the week

Your hot take is popular. Most want things safe. All except hard core liberal democrats that is.

Lunch with my realtor yesterday.

He says buyers have disappeared.

Told him I expect a slew of foreclosure by December.

Intend to pick up a few.

That's insane…

People going broke trying to look rich. Love my Nissan Frontier, affordable and reliable truck

It is crazy!

A new Frontier is around $40k. If you didn't put any money down, that would come out to about $750/month right now. $10k down, it would be about $580/month.

Average loan rate is 6.73% on a new car with good credit. On a used car, most people would get a 9%+ loan rate

Truly insane. Car payments are a wealth stealer. Pay off your car. Drive it for eight more years or until the wheels fall off. After that, the Jones's that you didn't insist on keeping up with will come wanting to borrow some of that pile of money you saved.
Call it a tax, the people are outraged! Call it a tariff, the people get out their checkbooks and wave their American flags!!!

Funny, have 2 cars paid off (convertible and pick up), for the first time looking at a lease. Can get for under $400, rent a vehicle actually seems attractive after looking at sales prices.

I can see the appeal of no maintenance or repair costs.

It is also fascinating to me how many companies are selling these extended warranties to used car owners. I have no idea what they cost, but I would bet they are pretty darned expensive!

Used to be a good deal. I had one on my 2013 F150, it was only $50 a month or so. Was worth peace of mind. Looked at it for my current 2018, $249 a month. Said no way.

I drive a Frontier, got mine new in 2021 for 32k, special edition model so it was a bit more than usual but with my trade in of my 2010 Frontier it cost me net $24k.

Scared to guess what a new Frontier would cost now.

I am looking at a Genesis. At 42k, hoping to get to 38k. If not, lease. Getting to where a small convertible is not going to work everyday for wife. But, great for summer weekends.

I think steak prices are outrageous everywhere. Pretty much the same for all beef. When i see cuts I like on sale, I want to stock up. Hopefully that will happen in the next few weeks.

Pork loin has become my go to protein lately for the work week. It's $2.17 per pound right now. I can pick up a 5 pound pork loin at Walmart for about 10 bucks and smoke it on Sunday and then have protein for the week.

Pork chops too. And chicken can be affordable as well. I like variety.

That's the a good choice. It's fast, very little waste and quite flavorful.

That is crazy for burgers and drinks for 2 people. Burgers are damn near $20 a piece at some places.... and that doesn't even include any sides.

My wife and I have definitely cut back on our frequency of going out. May be tough times ahead for restaurants.

I used to be able to take the family to dinner for about twice what it cost to make a home-cooked meal of similar food. Now, it's closer to four times the price.
