The guys name was Cristobal Balenciaga. This has nothing to do with Baal (who probably 99% of people couldn't name as "the devil").
I would say this marketing campaign was a massive dud but the fact that they are being discussed in a place like Baylor fans almost seems to point to the fact that it was a massive success because there is almost no such thing as bad publicity.
It was, without doubt, in terrible, terrible taste and certainly poor moral judgment but "they are a bunch of Satan worshipers" is why a good chunk of people can't even take the church or Christians seriously.
