Sorry, you leftist cultists cried "wolf" far too many times. You simply have no credibility left to sway anyone. Hell, y'all lie so much you have to get someone else to call the dogs to supper.
Our vibrations were getting nasty. But why? I was puzzled, frustrated... Had we deteriorated to the level of dumb beasts?

If Trump knew there was likely to be violence, that's relevant to his intentions when he sent the crowd to the Capitol. Plus you've got the new information about witness tampering.

You also had Trump planning to lead a mob to the capital to disrupt a Congressional proceeding.

Cipalone was worried about that. But Trump planned to do it nonetheless.

The fact that he was stopped doesn't save him from a criminal conspiracy charge.

Trump himself will probably skate, but it appears Rudy, Meadows, Eastman, and others are in real trouble.

At the very least, today's testimony shows that the attack on the capital wasn't spontaneous, but planned. Probably coordinated by Rudy and others in the Trump gang.

These "hearings" will have an effect, all right. Just not the way Sam, Oso, C Jordan and their ilk think will happen.
I think the hearings are informing some open minded Trump voters. What will come out today?

From WaPo
Cassidy Hutchinson, a top aide to Mark Meadows when he was White House chief of staff in the Trump administration, is expected to testify Tuesday at the latest hearing by the House select committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection. Hutchinson had frequent access to Meadows and President Donald Trump in the days before and after the attack on the U.S. Capitol and previously provided hours of closed-door testimony to the panel.
Did you get a t shirt or just the bumper sticker, when you joined Team Lynch Trump?

Listening to the hearing I see why you're so worried
I don't worry about bad comedy. You may want to worry about your mental health if/when Trump is elected again in 2024.
If there are that many people still voting for Trump, it's not Oso's mental health that needs worrying about.

Not defending Trump here- just passing the info.. Hurchinson just changed lawyers so now you are getting this new info. She also requested to be on the Trump team that transitioned to Florida from white house in 2020 but was rejected.

In 2019 Pelosi said:

"I am a longtime Member of the Ethics Committee, and, there, we just followed the facts...No hearsay...All objective. "

Some of what yall heard today was hearsay and no chance of cross or corroboration. Take it for what it is..

At least it was new and semi interesting
This is what Trump said, but we don't know it to be true and we don't know her side of the story.

Plus, she testified under oath and Trump never will.
funny, was thinking that about alot of her "testimony".

Whoopty, testified under oath.. fauci perjured himself during congressional testimony and they did nothing. Several others have too but not important enough I guess. You think anybody on that committee cares if she just perjured herself? Nope..

No defense attorneys, no cross examination, and no defense witnesses to rebut. McCarthy's decision. That's why Trump is mad at McCarthy .. again

Good point.
Plus; Trump ordered the turning off of the metal scanners on Jan 6 in spite of reports that people that wanted to get into the crowd were reported to be carrying firearms.

Plus:. The Capitol police were not ready for the protest at the Capital Building in spite of indicators that a serious protest was going to happen.

They did. Even if you take out the parts that could be considered "hearsay," it was powerful.

Besides, "hearsay" is irrelevant here. This is a Congressional fact-finding mission, not a criminal proceeding.

If you listened to Hutchinson's testimony, Trump repeatedly said, "They aren't going to hurt me."

"They" being the mob he sicced on the capitol.

He said that to support his demand that the metal detectors be turned off. His clear assumption was that the only purpose those detectors had was to protect HIM. He was completely unconcerned about the danger an armed mob might represent to anyone else.

So the obvious inference is that Trump INTENDED to send an armed mob to the Capitol HOPING they would hurt or kill people, possibly including Mike Pence. And that Mark Meadows was such a Trump sycophant and a weenie that he intended to let that happen.

It was clear that Hutchinson was concerned about Mike Pence and believed Trump was hoping the mob would harm him. Members of the mob also mentioned several others they were, literally, gunning for, including Nancy Pelosi.

I think it's a safe guess that some Republicans fully understand what Trump tried to do. Liz Cheney certainly did the day of, as her outburst at Jim Jordan that day indicated, and she obviously believed that Jordan fully understood what was happening, too. The fact that many Republicans are OK with Trump's attempt to physically threaten, hurt and possibly even kill their colleagues disqualifies those Republicans for holding office. How can you work in a bipartisan fashion with someone who would be happier if you were dead. THAT is why Pelosi refused to put Jordan and Banks on the investigation AND why Cheney and Kinzinger volunteered for it.

The grabbing the steering wheel hearsay conspiracy is even more stupid than the Capitol tours conspiracy. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to make one phone all and understand Secret Service protocols. Hint: president's don't ride in the front seat. I will give Shifty credit: it is clever because he knows the SS will not comment so she can make all the crazy claims she wants and she won't be refuted.

Back when we had actual journalists, one would have made the call and figured out it's not possible. If it were a Democrat, the story would be:

"A woman who was passed over for a job with former president Obama alleged X ... we spoke to our Mr. Expert, who said that that was not possible because of Y. There are allegations that said woman had a grudge against President Obama for passing her over for a promised position with his foundation."

Democracy is still in danger. Republicans have promoted the Big Lie knowing it wasn't true to undermine Biden's legimacy. The honest conservatives on this forum acknowledge Biden won the election. They're in the minority.

McConnell also undermined the legitmacy of SCOTUS by stealing an appointment from Obama at one end that would have moderated the court (Garland is not a liberal) and by reversing his rule at the other end to steal an appointment from Biden. The court is badly out of balance, and Thomas and Alito are now free to show us who they really are--papofacists who are totally unconcerned about the constitution, the rule of law and blatant conflicts of interest, including a wife who supported the Trump coup (although my theory is that Ginny's a dude).

Trump still controlls the party. Idiots like Mayra Florez are joining as Trump loyalists rather than committed public servants. Many states are trying to get the state assemblies to elect the president instead of the people. At least one person on this forum thinks that's a great idea.

If you are confident your policies will win elections, you don't try to rig the vote.

Republicans are trying to rig the vote in every state where that's possible. Democrats have done some gerrymandering, too, but Republicans are much more successful.

We have lots of rural states dictating our national policy. That's not sustainable. Lots of people who never imagined civil war are now finding it difficult to see a future where that doesn't happen, because people are simply not going to capitulate to minority rule, especially by religious fascists.

That's where we are, and Trump Republicans got us here. Cheney is trying to pull us back. I'm not optimistic.

No, it isn't. You know where democracy is in danger? Places like Lebanon.

Oh sure, we can cry baby our way on issues we don't agree with and gripe about the other guy, but elections are being held, and will continue to be held. Votes will be counted. The rule of law will prevail, and we'll continue to enjoy our privileged way of life, even though we'll ***** about it incessantly.

We're ok. Democracy was never threatened nor was our government even remotely close to being overthrown. But it's been a hell of a production. Another giant wedge to throw between us. As your post shows clearly, you really don't care about bringing perpetrators to justice, you want a giant handful of poo you can throw and cover (accuse/associate) with as many of the opposition as you can. Congrats! It's going swimmingly.
