"Two years ago, our country was dead. Now we are the hottest country anywhere in the world."

President Trump touted his administration's economic record during his address to the nation, saying the U.S. is seeing historic investment and record employment.

"We have more money being invested in the United States than at any time in the history of our country," Trump said. "More Americans are working today than ever before."

serious question. who in their right mind believe any of this?

It is amazing how many on here still double down on that this guy is competent. Either he is competent and gutting the Nation or incompetently flailing. Not sure which. But I am sure he is making a fortune off all this.

Our family has always done this. Can't beat a paid off car. My car is 8 years old and still feels kind of "new" to me.

One of the reasons I drive F150s. Can go 200k to 300k.
Yep. Downhill.

I have also read that the rise in use of GLPs has had a negative impact on snack food sales. So that may be a part of this as well.

The Conflicts Brewing In America's Ten Classes

"Let's distill the key dynamics this structure reveals.

1. This is a neofeudal society passing itself off as a free-market democracy. Power is concentrated in the top state-private sector classes. No one below has any real power. Electing another leader or party changes nothing: life gets more difficult, insecure and expensive for commoners regardless of who's in office. The Imperial project grinds on, regardless of the delusional hope that electing someone else will change anything. Everything else is an illusion of power, not real power."

That feels dead on accurate. I feel fortunate that my wife and I are in a comfortable spot....but I worry about the financial picture ahead for my kids that are in their early 20s just about to start on their journey of becoming independent. Feels like a precarious time ahead for finding a good job, starting a family, and eventually owning a home.

If you have to lease an Apple Watch maybe just hold off on having one for the moment…

Elon Musk did that and made thousands of SpaceX employees millionaires with the IPO.

Did that happen? I recall hearing that the stock has lost a lot since the big media noise.

Yes it happened. It was announced at the same time that Elon became a trillionaire (others became billionaires too). Obviously, the news about Elon received all the attention but the others also benefitted. There was a famous story of a welder who worked for Elon for years, received stock options, bought more stocks over the years, then became a millionaire with the IPO.

I've also read about the stock price dropping but also that it's normal for stock prices to fluctuate, especially after going public. Apparently, Musk's net worth is now less than $1 trillion so the others have likely lost some wealth. But they are all probably richer than they were a few months ago and will likely remain wealthy for the duration.

That's the reality of capitalism: everyone has opportunities to succeed but it's never guaranteed. Failure is always possible too. The difference between capitalism and socialism is that with freedom comes opportunities and even can succeed after multiple failures. Some of the most famous entrepreneurs in US history have failed and succeeded at times. Steve Jobs & Elon Musk are two dramatic examples.

Yes and no. Agree that the stock helps workers, so it's a good thing, but until you sell the stock it's just so much numbers.

True. Like every form of wealth it must be managed. I suspect they know how to do that.

Gasoline headed to $5 . We only have 42 days of SPR left. That should put the Recession nail in the coffin.

78% of SPCX employees did not have access to that opportunity.

Now 41 days left. Crude up another 3.63% premarket.

We can have a countdown to tank bottoms here like they have a countdown to kickoff in the football forum.

I don't know where that number came from but I bet it's inaccurate or included those who chose not to take advantage.

Under socialism, nobody but party elites have ANY opportunity. The elites have all kinds of special privileges (until they are purged) while everyone else struggles to survive. Capitalism means freedom to make your own decisions. Perhaps that includes which employees to make such offers, certainly the employees having the choice to take advantage or not. Regardless, it's immensely better than having everything controlled by corrupt politicians & bureaucrats.

I've lived in America all my life, in Texas the past 49.5 years. Yes, I know the US has far too much socialism. That explains almost all of our economic problems.

lol, Trumps war with Iran raised it in the first place, why are we pretending this is some sort of an accomplishment? It's not even back to pre-war levels.

Uh, no.

What does that have to do with what I said? Also, Clay Travis doesn't know the difference between Core CPI and CPI (headline)

I can't help you if you don't understand the subject material.

So, RNC research is objective, "real news"?

Genetic fallacy.
