African American!

About 10 years ago, my doctor told me to get the junk out of my coffee. Black coffee only. Great advice.

Coffee itself is not that bad and actually has some health benefits.

This is an article from a website I use for fitness stuff, to be totally transparent it is sponsored by a Supplement Company, but the articles show references and most are legit (PubMed, Medical Journals, etc...).

Take it for what its worth, but if you are interested in longevity, higher T levels after 50 and aging I find it useful and the supplements are pretty good. After 50, it is work to keep muscle, mobility and fitness. In my opinion, too many 28 year olds mistake great accomplishment with being 28. Hell at 28 all this **** was easy... 12% body fat and 405 squat at 28? Hell, your 28 you SHOULD look and perform well! Talk to me at 60... : )

This is meant as a positive and helpful, so please look at it that way.

I know a good way to get your T levels up when you're over 50.....inject testosterone. I could probably squat 405 but I dont feel the need to. 315 for 6-8 reps is plenty for me.

Trying to avoid TRT, for several reasons

1 - T testing hasn't shown the need, so whatever I am doing is keeping me in a decent range
2- At 62 if I go on, I am not coming off.
3 - I really do not want to go through the monitoring and blood work to do it right
4 - I like my balls like they are...

You want to do Test Cym or Enam, have at it. Been in the gym world long enough that I could care less what you want to take. Hell, I have given buddies shots (granted been 40 years since those days!).

As for the weights, they were not meant as a pissing contest. 405 or 315/reps for a back squat - ho-hum...

Now, you are knocking out 6-8 at 315 for a Front Squat, you will get my attention... For me, those days are long gone. Muscles not the issue, the joints. You can take whatever you want for muscle development but the joints are the weak link. I am not risking them at my age, did enough stupid lifts when younger.

Look into BPC 157 peptide. It will have your joints feeling great.

I like Branch Chain's. Been using Collagen, just need to make sure to take Vitamin C, and Cucurin (seems to do well, my wife likes it too for inflammation control). Joints doing ok, I still squat several times a week, RDL, and Farmers Walks.

For T, believe it or not eating a bag of broccoli for lunch everyday has made a big difference. It won't raise the T, but cruciferous will do a good job keeping the estrogen at bay.

Love these conversations, bio hacks become more pertinent as we age! Thanks for the tip, will check out the 157.

Sometimes people do it to themselves and it's hard to feel too sorry for them...those school loans she took out must have been huge.

More reason that we need more personal finance curriculum in high school.

There is a perfect storm going on.

The family has deteriorated. Used to be you would be getting married in the 20's and in the 80's and 90's there would be two incomes. Two incomes can handle a debt load better than one. You stay together for 40 years and you are able to overcome student debt. If one of you is able to do shift work, now daycare is minimal.

Today, we have somethings going for them that we didn't. Work remotely? Geez, that is set up to be a windfall. Work from home, be competent and no daycare? No travel expense. No eating out or parking fees and a limited amount of business clothing? *****..

Key I found is 2 people committed to same direction.

Sad thing is a lot of these 24 - 30 year olds that have these loans their parents had no idea they were taking them. After 18, schools will not tell parents. The only info you can get is on the loans with parents name.

We set up a system that treated 18-30 year olds as adults, but they really werent.

We do the same now. We used to go out every Saturday. Now, just cook at home. It is a $100 night just for two if you have drinks.

If we do go out now, it has to be something we can't do ourselves as well - German, sushi, Mexican. Usually it involves seeing kids. Next time we go out will be Octoberfest.

Humble brag...but I grill a mean reverse sear USDA prime ribeye. One hour in the smoker and take it to about 112 internal. Let it rest about 10 minutes....and then sear on the grill to around 130.

Wife and I can have a nice steak meal for $40 instead of $200. When we do go out and order steak I hardly ever feel it's better than what I make.
