I was as much a Reagan fan as anyone. But, as I see what is happening in this Country, I have to admit I was wrong. Supply side has destroyed America and turned into a Financial Oligarchy. Not just here, but Thatcher destroyed England. Anywhere supply side economics was used the middle class paid the price and rich just got richer and didn't trickle anything down.

I used to believe that too. But, no. It is anytime Capitalism goes unchecked. Once the Bezos, Musks, etc get enough there is no fighting it. We got there with Carnegie, Rockefeller, etc until regulation came in. Teddy stepped in. We are there again. Too much wealth in too small a number of people. Seems to happen when there is a paradigm shift in technology.
Anytime the government touches something they ruin it. Full stop. The best government can do is to act as a neuronal mediator to make sure everyone plays by the same rules. And since we can never trust the politicians and bureaucrats to be honest there must be complete transparency, no opportunity for cheating (California law is structured for stealing elections), and fewer bureaucrats.
Disagree with your Govt view, anytime Capitalism is giving free reign the rights and well being of the workers become secondary. Watching alot of 60 year olds being pushed out to cut salary, nothing to do with performance. That is just wrong, people invest their lives to be reorg-ed after 25 years. Middle and upper middle class is getting shredded. Too much "efficiency" bouncing people just before retirement.
Your complaint is with Corporate Capitalism, not Free Market Capitalism.
That said, there's a lot wrong with the current way things are done, and the federal government is not exactly focused on helping regular people.

Bidenflation has a lingering impact because although inflation has gone down and remained lower over the past 17 months (not 2 years), the prices of most goods have not gone back to where they were 5 years ago. Also, the fascists, especially rogue judges, have been fighting tooth and nail to prevent Trump's corrections of Biden's more egregious policies, especially defunding their slush funds and the deportation of illegals. Illegals are a real burden on the economy by taking that which that should go to Americans: jobs, housing, education opportunities, welfare assistance, and much more. All of this increased inflationary pressures.

No surprise they are positive. The pump has been primed enormously with the trade deals (I.E. something other than just deficit spending). But his policy represents a structural transformation of the economy, to move enough of corporate supply chain inside the USA to get us back to balanced trade, if not surplus. Such a policy is LONG overdue, and it does take time for the networks to rewire. The tariffs were just the blunt instrument to break the rusty bolts holding the old order together. The positive moves in the LEIs are clear evidence that the policy is having the intended effects.
