That is really cool. I did not realize that the money in the U.S. Treasury was our money. Wish Bessent and Trump would send us some!
Call it a tax, the people are outraged! Call it a tariff, the people get out their checkbooks and wave their American flags!!!

Trump's quick fix for beef prices:

Trump says he will cut price of ground beef by 25% with deal to import foreign meat

https://notthebee.com/article/trump-says-he-will-cut-price-of-ground-beef-by-25-with-deal-to-import-foreign-meat

As this writer indicates, there is a better long term solution available: deregulation. And it's available for many areas of the economy, not only beef. Even better, eliminate many of the regulatory agencies that create these costly (& arguably unconstitutional) rules.

Trump terrible business practices are now stealing the highest beef prices ever and out sourcing over our Mercan Ranchers. Anyone see the irony?

What have they reported wrong on?

Do you prefer I post from outlets that are never critical of Trump?

You can follow this guy if you prefer 24/7 Trump worship.

"Rents are declining primarily in fast-growing Sun Belt and interior Western metropolitan areas"

Austin-Round Rock, Texas: Down roughly 6.6% to 7.1% year-over-year, seeing some of the sharpest corrections from its pandemic peak.

Denver-Aurora, Colorado: Down about 4.8% to 5.4% compared to the previous year.

Phoenix-Mesa, Arizona: Down about 4.0% to 4.4% from the prior year.

Las Vegas, Nevada: Down about 3.0% year-over-year

Jacksonville and Miami, Florida: Experiencing downward adjustments between 2.7% and 4.2%

The logic of build more housing and deport illegals....seems to work

rents flat, but maybe softening. With rates up, gets challenging.

Little man really getting the squeeze right now. What's the breaking point?

BREAKING: American wages have fallen to 43% of national income, the lowest since the Great Depression.

For every $1 the US economy produces, workers are getting less of it than at any point since 1929.

The rest is going to corporate profits, which are now at an all time high.

This is why the economy keeps growing but most Americans feel poorer. GDP goes up, wages go up in dollar terms, but workers are getting a smaller and smaller slice of what they actually produce.

Asset prices keep rising for the same reason.

Money that used to go to wages is now going to shareholders instead, and shareholders put it into stocks, real estate and other assets.

This is a reason why it makes it hard to root for America, American workers are not benefiting. Day to day life is not getting better for those making under 250k household income. Home ownership is less and less a reality. Conservatives need to stop thinking individual success stories and more about how to deliver at scale, it used to be you could get a job, raise a family and own a house without being wealthy, That is not the case today.

But, rather than discussing policy and how move the country forward let's hear how great everyone on this board is how they did it without debt, so everyone should... Corporate profits are better... Rising tides... Meanwhile the typical American is drowning, I know personal choices. But, damn us Baylor grads are great... Calvinism baby...

That won't happen until the annual budget is balanced. And that is up to Congress. Since they have shown little interest in my lifetime, I'm not holding my breath.

It will probably be necessary to have a balanced budget for multiple years in a row before they can make a real dent in the debt.

Probably not much in most of the country. Not yet anyway. If the deportations continue, rents might go down as demand decreases while supply remains the same. ECON 101. At least rents might not be rising as much as they were a couple years ago and that's a welcome development.

I watched a YouTube video a couple days ago about quality and value in various chains. It was quite interesting.

I'm unsure how believable it is. It does provide food for thought (pardon the pun).

Debt is never going away. Best solution is a good cash flow plan that manages the cost of money better.

You're probably correct, we will probably never get rid of the debt but we must at least try. Only once in our history has the US been debt free (about 200 years ago) and the vast majority of our $40 trillion in national debt is from the past 25 years.
