Never dreamed Trump would bully Canada and Mexico into the arms of others. Self-inflicted wound. Our next President will spend his term mending fences with our former allies.

Trump's actions continue to make him perhaps the worst foreign policy President in the modern era.

I read that the US put a clause in the trade negotiations that prevented Canada from acquiring other trade partners. That's why Canada walked away.

I am pretty skeptical about this. Last I checked, Canada is a sovereign nation. So is Mexico.

These guys don't let things like "sovereignty" get in the way.

When you enter trade agreements you voluntarily give up some of your sovereignty. When you then violate those agreements, it is not a violation of your sovereignty when you get called out on it.

Just an observation. I can be critical of Trump's tariffs while recognizing Canada's abuse of the North American market. Canada does not "lose sovereignty" just because they got caught with their hand in the proverbial cookie jar.

It is pitiful that Trump has half the country convinced they are battered and bruised victims at the hands of our trading partners. It is simply not true. "They have been ripping us off for years" is just another false talking point that the MAGA Proles have bought into.

Are we "the hottest country in the world" or innocent victims being bullied by the world? Very simply, we can't be both.

That is the issue, we can. Wall Street is doing great. Certain industries are doing great. The C suite is doing great

The regular people not so much. Food, fuel, utilities, and health cost are up. The wealthy dont care, $50 a month on an electric bill? So? No big deal. $90 to fill a pick up? So, trade it in on a Tesla. Those "that cant afford it" cancel cable. They shouldn't have cell phones.

It very well can and is both. We have a split economy and the wealth gap is growing.

How about a mix of GOP and Dem Congressmen? Working on fixing the damn mess we are in? Or a combination of company owners, labor leaders and finance leaders? Or, god forbid, social, religious and charity leaders?

The fact you can't think of others to be at those tables sums up all that is wrong with you and your ilk. You think it is perfectly ok that only the elite super rich have access to decision makers.

You are what is destroying what was a great Nation. I am embarrassed you are an American.

They are not interested in fixing the mess they largely created. They make this clear every day they fail to pass the Save Act, offer genuine immigration reform (not amnesty), or do anything towards balancing the budget.

On the budget, I personally believe no one on Capitol hill should be paid one dime until the budget is balanced, starting with a 50% pay cut for every member of Congress (and the top positions throughout the bureaucracy). No Congress swamp critters, no staffers, and the only exceptions being custodial and security personnel. They are far more valuable than 99% of the swamp creatures.

I don't disagree. I would prefer seeing some type of coalition of electeds, business, and service providers working together. But that ain't happening. We will continue to be gutted as these guys make fortunes.

economic expansion always starts at the top and trickles down. Henry Ford got rich making cars, but a couple decades later, auto-factory workers were buying homes in neighborhoods with hot & cold running water and sanitary sewer instead of sharecropping for subsistence wages and using the Sears catalog to clean themselves in the outhouse.

but if you don't believe that little bit of reality, just change your pronouns, start wearing dresses, convert to islam, open up a learing center NGO, and see how much better off you will become. In no time at all, the climate crisis will abate, the Rio Grande will once again be teeming with refugees coming to save your neighborhood for the unbearable whiteness of being, and another million or so jobs will be offshored back to China. Best of all, you can know you are morally superior to everyone who disagrees with you and will once again have the ability to cancel them from the public square.

Huge difference you CEO types fail to recognize, those shifts RAISED the standard of living, allowed home ownership to skyrocket, opened education to the masses. And actually made healthcare more available lowering the mortality rate. That is not what is going on now.

You are asking the majority of people to go backwards for a few decades, while you and your ilk go forward. The C-suite is not taking pay cuts, missing bonuses, telling your kids to go VO-TECH to be a plummer, or not own a house. You are right on schedule...

You are asking everyone else to understand or? Did you miss your meds when you wrote the second paragraph? Really, that is your false dichotomy? We all take steps backward (while you still get your raises and bonuses) or we will have to not really sure where you were going with that... But, we will go with some type of liberal that is a naughty word on here to shame me into agreeing...

We are not in a recession. We are seeing GDP being driven to 2x historical norms thanks to investment in new manufacturing facilities that will pay far better wages than service jobs. You can keep *****ing your class warfare nonsense if you prefer, but it's just going to make you look less and less attached to reality. The hard work of fixing your service economy mess has been done and the fruits are just now staring to roll in.

Less attached to reality? Have you gone grocery shopping lately or filled your car? Looked at an electric bill?

Who is not attached to reality? Everything you are explaining is great for the C-suite, which it who you are really interested in protecting. The normal person that makes less than 300k a year is struggling. Like it or not, the reality is that for the average person, not you special elites, life was better under Biden even with all his stupid ***** Trump has been a disaster to the working class.

But your 401k is doing great. That is the focus of this Administration, not providing health care, prices people can live with, or empolyment. But, the Stock Market because that is where his and your money is.

Go grocery shopping or fill your pick up and tell us how great it is... But, I bet you got you latest Data Center approved?

Donald Trump Jr is who we are sourcing? Really? I NEVER want to heat *****ing about sources again. This idiot Jr is who we are now trumpeting?
