Actually, no. I didn't vote for Biden. But you did. If Trump hadn't been elected in the first place, Biden would never have been elected presdident, and the House and Senate would likely still be controlled by sensible Republicans.

US has issues also.LINK

[T]he Defense Department's Automated Biometric Identification System has flagged up to 100 of the 7,000 Afghans evacuated as prospective recipients of Special Immigration Visas as potential matches to intelligence agency watch lists, a second official said. At least 6,000 fleeing Afghans have been evacuated to Al Udeid and thousands more have been flown to other temporary staging bases throughout the Middle East and Europe by U.S. military aircraft. [] Ultimately, thousands of those Afghans will come to the United States, where they will be initially housed at several military bases, such as Fort Bliss in Texas, Fort McCoy in Wisconsin and Fort Lee in Virginia.

Women walking in Kabul, Afghanistan 1972.

Afghanistan women in 1968

This is what freedom look like in Kabul.

These beautiful women walking freely and confidently, others obviously having fun, as they should be.

In your pictures above, that is the opposite of freedom.

A million moving components and chaos ensues not as a result of Biden but the failure of the Afghan army, the threat and realization of Taliban violence, and the ISIS K bombings..
110,00 people evacuated. And critics here think it was manageable. If so how would you manage it? First on the list how to stop a suicide bomber?

I know this is going to shock you, but it should have never come to this point where we have thousands of Afghans on the perimeter of the civilian airport.

Everyone saw Afghanistan falling for 2 weeks and this ending in Kabul except for Joe Biden.

warn other countries, start civilian draw down first, hold bagram until military draw down which is done last. Destroy what we dont take with us. So many things to do differently. Rule number 1 is dont arm your opposition and dont give up a way out aka the military air base

And that is what the US Army's Project Walrus is about putting together an entire action unit of war machinery, with all the wiring and plumbing preinstalled, and placing it in the most strategic place. Whilst this would completely rewrite the way that war is conducted, the Walrus - a massive lozenge-shaped blimp the size of a football field capable of transporting 500 tons at a time - could offer solutions to myriad peacetime problems, opening land-locked countries to trade, enabling heavy construction materials to be delivered into urban centres with minimum disruption, freeing our highways of high volume, heavy loads, offering a more robust and agile air transportation network capable of absorbing disruptions due to weather or attack. Indeed, business logistics could again be completely rethought and streamlined because many physical transportation limits would no longer apply once a fleet of commercial walruses became available. The walrus does not require an airstrip and can land on water or on open ground.

The deal included the avoidance of encounter (US vs Taliban), which had been what was happening. And are you asking why keep Bagram open?

You know what, these kind of rhetorical questions seem incredibly insincere and disingenuous. Tell you what, I had a few beers with two retired AF pilots yesterday, special ops, tours over a 20 year period. They got shot at, they lifted injured comrades and they gave dead ones rides too. They explained VERY clearly how this could have been avoided, by Biden, with not a hint of bias.

You see, it's not political to them, it's about US doing the right thing. One of them was so emotional he couldn't speak the first 20 minutes or so. The other, she made it very clear what she thinks of the State, the WH and the Pentagon and who appears to have dropped the ball. Hearings should vet that out but her primary concerns are the Afghani's and our stranded.

You are welcome to join us for a beer anytime, they'll give you the answer you don't want to hear, but leave the excuses and protectionist political cover-ups at the house. I'm sure you'll agree with them face to face then show back up behind the keyboard and get back to your work.

serious? Larger airport, more locations to move people out of..

Lets plan to get 150k people out thru a single runway civil airport in the middle of a major city?! Are you kidding me?!

It was a result of Biden failing to listen to his military advisors and all I know is that in the last year of Trump's presidency no attacks of Americans killed in Afghanistan. (That fact was even stated on NPR!)

I've long been under the impression that it costs more to bring our munitions back than it does to buy new stock.

Can anyone verify?
Winning by cheating is just as impressive as winning fairly, probably even more so. Your opponent was better than you in every way, and you beat them with your brain.

Depends on whether your cost calculations include the damage and death from enemies using those weapons on us and our allies.

So we're not letting them on the flights for now, and they're not being allowed past checkpoints to get to the airports either. Therefore, our government is currently allowing the massacre of any single one of those people.

Evict them all. You can impeach the VP as well.

Pentagon says 'thousands' of ISIS-K prisoners released by Taliban

Yahoo News (and other news sites reporting)
Fri, August 27, 2021, 11:15 AM

Quote:

The Pentagon said that "thousands" of ISIS Khorasan Province (ISIS-K) prisoners were freed by the Taliban during their takeover of Afghanistan in the days leading up to the bombing near the Kabul airport, which killed 13 U.S. service members Thursday.

During a press briefing Friday, Pentagon spokesperson John Kirby responded to a question from Fox News' Jennifer Griffin about how many prisoners were released from the prison at Bagram, Afghanistan, and why they were not removed before the U.S. pulled out its troops.

"How many ISIS-K prisoners were left at Bagram and are believed to have been released from the prison there, and why weren't they removed before the U.S. pulled out to some place like GTMO?" asked Griffin, referring to the Guantanamo Bay Naval Base.

"Well, I don't know the exact number. Clearly, it's in the thousands when you consider both prisons, because both of them were taken over by the Taliban and emptied. But I couldn't give you a precise figure," responded Kirby.

"Blind loyalty" is a straw man.
Here's an example of anagram stupidity not the President but military commanders."
"Lt Col Stuart Scheller called attention to remarks from the secretary of defense suggesting the Afghan forces could withstand the Taliban and questioned the advice senior military leaders have been giving the president.

"I'm not saying we've got to be in Afghanistan forever, but I am saying: Did any of you throw your rank on the table and say, 'Hey, it's a bad idea to evacuate Bagram Airfield, a strategic airbase, before we evacuate everyone.' Did anyone do that? And, when you didn't think to do that, did anyone raise their hand and say, 'We completely messed this up?'"

He said there have been questions about whether or not US military personnel who died in the war did so in vain.

Scheller said that "potentially all those people did die in vain if we don't have senior leaders that own up and raise their hand and say 'we did not do this well in the end,'" adding that 'without that we just keep repeating the same mistakes."

The Marine Corps has seen the video but did not say whether or not there will be repercussions for posting it.."
Note the President may have been given bad advice.
