It's just that you often make some very good points and ask good questions, only to lose their effect, if not credibility by the harsh tone you sometimes take. I have no desire to get into it with you. It's pretty obvious I'd lose. However, you are correct, it is your prerogative to state your opinion in whatever tone and language you choose.

Actually I prefer not to argue or get into a who can insult each other more. (Although there are some pretty funny shots on this board )

This BU board seems very combative. I grew up in NYC, was lower enlisted and learned to hit hard or you become a target. My apologies if I came across to harsh. If I do it, it's because I think the other party wants to.

I don't believe in conspiracies, massive organized fraud or that everything in government is a grift. Incompetent, lazy or careless definitely, but not the organized grift. I think they are uncovering more laziness and carelessness than malicious fraud. The Deep State Feds I have met are more interested in retiring than agendas. We need to fix it, no doubt but I don't think everything is as slam dunk as the MAGA crowd.
You should believe in it because we have the receipts.

It's beyond corrupt. Do you understand what they've stolen from us?

What they stole or appropriated where you don't agree? There is a difference. Is it criminal or laziness? I am happy, so far they have found enough to fund several needed road projects. We can use that money to build infrastructure. It is needed.

As for stolen from us, let's see how many get prosecuted. Trump is in power,, Musk has access. Let's see what is jail able and what is stupidity. Unless Congress passes laws or the laws on the books are enforced this is a short term accounting exercise. Free up the funds....

Want it to stop, see Homan on the leak. That is how you stop it. Let's see what turns up at OMB and Treasury. So far a lot of money and no one to hold accountable.

Theres not going to be jail time or arrests.

They lawfully were evil. That's kind of what I'm getting at, we have a hostile regime that bent the rules to carry out very sinister things with our tax dollars.

This highlights how those of us who said our government is corrupt, have been vindicated, and now nobody wants to acknowledge it. This is the biggest scandal in world history, and lefties and regime con artists are pretending it's not happening.

I think you should take this more seriously, it's not incompetence, far from it.

There is always some true criminals. But most of what we are talking about is not malicious bring the Nation down evil. These people believe in these programs as much as you are against. Biden believes his path is the correct one. On the site, believe it or not 99% are conservative, some more than others but overall on the right of the spectrum. There are those truly on left that really believe you are just as evil as you say they are. Point, it is not as much criminal grift as you think.

Of course there are some bad actors, always are on all sides. There is no clear right and wrong or good and evil. There are believes, this is politics. Good intentions can do horrible things and bad intentions can be a victory. The bad actors should be prosecuted, the others were probably just doing their jobs. We are not talking working death camps here, we are talking forwarding a different energy policy or some other policy. You are making it much more than it is to 80% of the curve.

No, it's absolutely grift. Whether it's criminal or not is a different debate.

USAID "solves" international humanitarian problems the same way all those government programs for the homeless solve homelessness. It doesn't. The whole thing is a ruse to launder money through corrupt NGOs run by Democrat party clients.

It's a slush fund to finance all sorts of evil. The $34.3M that Politico has received from various swampy federal govt agencies comes with an unspoken understanding that their journalists will work diligently to quell dissent, cover up scandals and promote the administration in power. They're not going to bite the hand that feeds them. This has a massive influence on what the public believes and is not true journalism.

You're making a huge mistake if you think these people believe in the programs. They don't solve the problems they claim to. Hundreds of billions of dollars spent yearly with virtually no achievements to show for.

No, they don't but that does not make them illegal. That is the part you don't get, they believe getting the money IS solving the problem. It is the only metric you hear about. Whether the total amount of funding or pre captia funding or international funding. Even ROI is *******ized, by both sides, to be based on monetary not functional basis. We are a Nation driven by money with little regard for actually doing what we are supposed to do. As long as we make money or pay off debt, all is well. Meanwhile bridges are falling apart. Biden was even worse! We went deeper into debt and bridges still fall apart.

For example, property is freed by a transportation agency whose mission is to provide transportation. Selling the property will rate higher because the ROI is higher than actually building a road or transit hub. So sell the property and put in in a reserve fund. Agency made money and even lowered debt, but didn't do a damn thing to provide more transportation. The whole reason it exists. It works both ways. HSA should be rated on safe they keep us, not how much money they make or save. Same with all of the Departments. Mission first, we have lost that to either zealots or beancounters.

I think it will have to reach that point. We can't keep being so bi-polar that it just results in fights. I am optimistic that Trump may be able to do that this time. He seems much less defensive. I am actually optimistic about his appointees.

DOD, I am hoping he keeps going. He is acting like a SecD, not a junior officer just out of RANGER school, which is needed. I like what he is doing.

I like that DOGE is finding bad spending, I hope they can reach a point to balance that with getting **** done.

So, we will see. We have to get to a point that we are moving forward, not just tug of war over stupid issues.

The interest rates are keeping a lot of middle class and lower upper class in a debt cycle. We are not talking 10 to 15%, we are talking 25 to 29%. There is only so long you can say that they did it to themselves. At some point it is going to bring the system down. Charging 29% interest rates, setting profit records and paying ridiculous bonuses to Executives for approving it is criminal.

Many on here will love this post, why? Because now we get to hear how financially responsible and great you guys are and those irresponsible louts deserve what they get. Then you ***** over the foreclosure rate and debt rates.

Possibly your best post.

One of the biggest surprises I encountered after 2 years volunteering at a homeless service center was how many normal, rational, hardworking people found themselves homeless.

It was not always a case of laziness or stupidity.

Often it was just bad luck…especially if they were not part of a strong family unit.

Money is nice , health even better …..but being part of a family that actually cares about you is the single most important factor in life.

Peace Be With You.

I agree with you in theory. I have this conversation with my in-laws, farmers. They only carry "business" debt, but all their possession are the "farm". Every once in a while, they all get new cars and upgrade everything. Business debt level got too low. There is an optimal level of debt for the "business" to carry. So, yeah, to them, a car loan is a suckers deal.

I constantly hear how it is an individual choice. When you don't have to live in today's financial world and can just take a "draw" against the business those people really can't take part in the "responsible finances" conversation. Most farmers inherited land. This group inherited 3000 acres, which is now 1000 acres because they sold off the "non-farmable". So, they took 6 generations of investment and cashed it in for the lake house in their name, not the farm. Or other brothers "cashed" and walked, now working in commodities.

Sorry, JR we disagree on this one. 90% of the world is not living in yours or my in-laws world. I have NO issues with it, just don't call me or others stupid or irresponsible because we have to take out a car loan or mortgage. Myself and a majority of the Nation inherited nothing no business, no farm or trust fund. A lot of people started from scratch and being able to have a nice life, raise kids, and die when the last cent is paid back or spent is a better life than they could have hoped to have when they started out. Hearing from the trust fund group how irresponsible they are is annoying.
