So just to be clear, you don't dispute that Trump brokered a very bad "deal", but you say it's Biden's fault for carrying it out and Trump is above reproach on the subject?
Just my opinion, but I truly believe the "blame" for the deplorable situation in Afghanistan falls far and wide. The "mission" began 20 years ago with the attack on 9/11..and our attempt to hold those responsible accountable for that day. With the killing of Osama bin Laden and diminishing the power of Al-Qaeda, we had achieved some measure of success in that mission. What has followed, I believe, has been political posturing by both R's and D's in attempting to rebuild this part of the world to our advantage( some will argue "in our image") in both economic and political methods. It has been , in my opinion, an exercise in futility..as it has been for every other global power that has sought to do exactly the same thing. Blood and treasure has been lost in this region for centuries, and now where are we? Right back into the grip of religious autocrats that arose after the Soviet Union abandoned their failed attempt at communist rule in the region in the 90's..I believe that as of this moment, we are seeing the result of a US administration that simply failed to recognize the power of the Taliban in the region. Our President only last month was saying that it was highly unlikely that the Taliban could/would take power in Afghanistan..Quite simply. he was wrong. I hope and pray that we can safely extricate Americans that are still there as well as our loyal Afghan translators and service personnel that need to get out in order to survive. A tall task in itself.
