This is of course a complete lie.Porteroso said:whiterock said:no one who has read a book on the subject, or has been formally trained on the subject (as have I) would attempt to make the laughable case that J6 was an insurrection. It meets not a single element, fails at every step of the analytical ladder.Porteroso said:Doc Holliday said:
It's really simple guys.
Democrats want you to believe it was in insurrection so they can associate all of your ideas of policy and conservatism as evil and unjust.
People who can read a dictionary know it was an insurrection, and it matters because this needs to be a 1 time thing, not every 4 years. We need to be capable of accepting peaceful transfer of power. This insurrection was pathetic but the next doesn't have to be.
Imagine encouraging this under the veil of "it wasn't so bad guys just a tour and some selfies."
Is it books you have read or the dictionary that defines insurrection? It is simple enough to analyze.
Were government buildings breached in a clear effort to disrupt the peaceful transfer of power? Yes
How do we know that was the intent? They said so and blasted it on twitter to the world
Had they been successful, what would have the result been? The end of democracy
It's just so easy to use the ole noggin a bit. Try it!
Even if the 10,000 protestors that day had taken the Capitol and held it for weeks...that is not the "end of democracy".
The Congress has authority in the USA and can meet where it likes...the Capitol building itself is not mentioned in the Constitution.
The Congress could have moved to the IHOP across the river in Arlington Virginia and certified the election. And the winning candidate for President would then have taken power (even if he never set foot in the White House)
It is a crazy thing to hear people argue that our system of government is so fragile that if some protestors take up residence in the Capitol building for more than 2hrs it means the collapse of American democracy.
The Congress, the President, and the Supreme Court don't even need to work out of D.C. or even visit it ever to still be the legitimate wings of the Federal Government.
They can all move to downtown Waco if they want.
