Big pharma rigged medicine...why wouldn't they lobby and meddle in covid messaging to drive up vaccines for more profit? There's a reason the FDA banned monoclonal antibodies and it has nothing to do with science and everything to do with profit.

It's astonishing how many of you don't realize how nefarious people are and have been all throughout history.

We have to stop pretending that humanity is good, ethical and unselfish. You gotta put your big boy pants on and face the truth.
Monoclonal antibodies aren't banned. The FDA revised the authorization for two types that were found to be ineffective against Omicron.

Monoclonal antibodies are highly specific. The versions with their EUA withdrawn are specific to COVID and do not appear to be effective against omicron. Another version was previously withdrawn because it didn't work against, I think, delta. The problem is that there may still be some delta out there. If it's all omicron, these monoclonals won't work.

It is also a company that makes one of the two monoclonals that don't appear to work against omicron and that treatment is often referenced in the press by the company name as in "Regeneron antibody treatment."

Yes. Like the vaccines they are less effective against Omicron. But no one has said they are completely ineffective, not to mention, Regeneron (and others) have newer mABs they'd like regulators to consider but there's a real road block when it comes to treatments. But we'll grease the skids for vaccines entrants.

I guess we're going this way, huh?

COVID-19 antibody drugs from Regeneron and Eli Lilly should no longer be used because they don't work against the omicron variant that now accounts for nearly all U.S. infections, U.S. health regulators said Monday.

Sure, swallow what they feed you. It was Regeneron that disclosed the reduced effectiveness. Didn't even wait for CDC evaluation. Please note it was regulators and not scientists who made the call. The same ones holding up other treatments.

Is it your belief that the antibody drugs from Regeneron and Lilly work against the Omicron variant of Covid? What other treatments are regulators holding up? Which regulators are holding up the treatments?

I believe they still have modest effectiveness against Omicron, but well below Delta and Alpha performance, But the FDA pulled the EUA so it can't be used on COVID patients at all in places where Omicron is dominant. Don't understand the abrupt necessity of that decision. We wouldn't do the same with vaccines, especially when the evaluating factor was in at risk profiles. Vaccine is struggling with this group and Omicron as well. There is a list of EUA approval requests for treatments that you can review. The path of Fluvoxamine should be interesting. Cheap and generic.

Will masks become the 'new normal' even after the pandemic has passed? Some Americans say so
Quote:

"I think we do need a new culture of masks, at least any time not feeling well, and I think masks are in and handshakes out for the indefinite future," said Dr. Tom Frieden, the former director of the C.D.C. during the Obama Administration and the president of global health initiative Resolve to Save Lives.

Who cares? Is it that much of an inconvenience?
It's not about inconvenience. It's about effectiveness. Unless a mask is N95 and fit tested, it is useless with coronavirus. Unless it is a Baylor mask. Then it's cool.

Forcing women to wear a burka has shown to reduce rape. Is it that much of an inconvenience to free up police time and hospital space? You are evil and selfish if you don't support mandatory burkas for women.

Government will never relinquish power voluntarily.
They will abuse it to the maximum extent possible.
Nobody in the history of ever has complied their way out of tyranny.

Put your foot down, stop being weak and say no more.

COVID mitigation is leading to suicide, domestic abuse, drug addiction and suffering. Children are behind in learning and they'll never catch up. Society and culture is taking a permanent turn for the worse.

The time to stop is NOW.

This is just another example Biden not firing on all cylinders. I am not sure what the hell happened there. He is just not right. Dems are terrified of him taking questions. I am no Trump fan, but can you imagine if he did the same thing. It would be all main stream media.

Rogan's curiousity is probably honest. It is certainly broad as I perceive him to try and get a variety of guest opinions.

My problem with him is that he is often out of his depth. I no longer have the patience to sit through two hours hoping he'll ask the tough question.

It's not about "trusting Joe Rogan." Rogan brings on people and lets them talk long form, rather than cramming them into a narrative with leading questions over a 2-minute span. People don't trust CNN because the way they operate is as an obvious propaganda machine. Rogan is willing to just let the people he is interviewing be heard out fully in context, including nuance and competing considerations and thoughts. It's two completely different forms of communication.
